Choose Proper Light Conditions
All styles where developed for ambient light conditions and are likely to work best with images created with ambient light. Especially photographers that use strobes to create strong contrast imagery might not find all of our styles helpful.
Ambient light conditions may vary largely. Not every style will work with every image. While most styles of this styles pack have great versatility you will receive the best results if you use styles with similar images to those images they were created for. For reference have a look at the product example images displayed on the sales website.
Adjusting Styles
When applying a style to an image and you see need to adjust it, start with exposure first, so that the areas the images was exposed for are properly exposed. Re-adjust highlights and shades after, continue with contrast, and finish with the white balance settings and potential color corrections.
Use RAW Images When Possible
We use RAW images in our image creation process. Accordingly our styles are created and optimised for RAW images.
RAW images incorporate more image information than compressed image formats like JPG-files. That means that you can manipulate RAW images more intensely before the images shows unwanted effects. Unwanted effects could be color banding or blowing out of highlights and shades. Particularly when working with highlights and shades this is of importance, but it also matters when working on color saturation and tones.
If you use a style on a JPG-image and the image starts to show unwanted effects, you can either try to identify the style setting that causes the unwanted effect and adjust it, or you can apply the style to a separate layer and use the opacity of the layer to dial back on the effect.
